Pressure relief (expansion) system for liquid chlorine lines
The expansion system safely absorbs the excess pressure that can arise in liquid chlorine lines as temperature rises. When liquid chlorine trapped between two valves warms up, the pressure increases rapidly; the rupture disc opens and the chlorine is taken into the expansion tank, protecting the line.
The system consists of a MONEL rupture disc with a 22.5 bar rupture pressure, a 0 – 40 bar contact pressure gauge as an indicator and for remote indication, and an expansion tank that protects against any chlorine release.
