Dosing tanks store the chemical fed by the dosing pump. Gas-tight versions are used for aggressive, effervescent and toxic agents, and chemicals that deteriorate through the ingress of atmospheric moisture must also be stored in suitably closed tanks.

The requirement for gas-tightness or insulation from the atmosphere does not mean the tank contents should be hermetically sealed, as the tank could otherwise become pressurised during filling. Tanks are therefore used together with a moisture cartridge or venting element. Collecting pans capture any leakage in a controlled manner and are required by regulation in chemical storage areas.
